Proto... Meta... Intra...

A trio of artworks have been commissioned specially
for the Postgraduate
Medical Institute (PMI) at
Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. The designs
draw on the methods, practices and technologies
of the medical research work being undertaken within
the PMI.
The artworks have been created by Heather Barnett
working with Karl Kjelstrup-Johnson (SkinGraph)
and in consultation with PMI medical research teams.
The artworks take inspiration from biological
and technological systems, such as CT scanning,
computer modelling and molecular structures. Each
work is incomplete or partially evident, inviting
you to decode visualisations, fill in the gaps
and mentally construct the body as a whole.

The titles to the works [Proto..., Meta..., Intra...]are
also purposefully unfinished. As prefixes only
(with their root in the classical languages of
medical science) you are invited to complete the
titles by adding your own suffix.
See the project
blog for details and updates.

Expected completion date: December 2011
