Flow: Art Commission
for Guy's Hospital Cancer Day Unit

Winner of 'Best Use of Visual Art in Healthcare' BBH Award 2011

"An exceptional and stunning scheme... innovative and beautiful.. something that does not happen often" Award Judge, Sarah Waller

Flow

Artist Heather Barnett and poet Will Holloway were commissioned to produce artworks for the new Cancer Day Unit at Guy’s Hospital, opened by David Dimbleby in April 2011.

The artworks were created in response to a series of word games and workshops held with patients, carers and staff. The work produced, seen on the walls, windows and screens of the unit, brings together the themes of the living city, navigation and the flow of nature.

All works created by Heather Barnett and Will Holloway working in collaboration with patients, carers and staff of the Cancer Day Unit, with additional illustration by Tim McDonagh (An Atlas of Journeys), Zanet Belasicova (City in Flow) and Valerie McNulty (Multiplicity).

Installation photographs by Charlotte Wood.
